Started back in the midst of yore by a revolving crew of fun-loving Shanghai based DJs, Bananas has won a reputation for being the most energy-packed, fun place for dressing up, getting down and laughing at all of the pretension that comes with other club nights.
"The best thing I remember were the girls at BANANER [an Ikea / Scandanavian theme party] printing their own tshirts, making skirts out of the blue plastic (Ikea) bags and drinking Absolut all night!"
Loo & Placido take malicious pleasure in blending the best of today's and yesterday's music in a sort of 'Back to the Future' avalanche mix covering most genres of dance culture in a modern and powerful way resulting in a tasty Electro-Rock / Hip-Hop mixture. These self-described "Electronic Popstar Killers" are clearly killing it!
2003, the duo started a collaboration with MTV (UK) and produced over 20 mash-ups for the MTV MASH show, and every year since then they have also produced all the mixes for the MTV EUROPE MUSIC AWARDS TV show. At the end of 2004, their 'Superchunk' mix was voted 'Best Studio Session' of the year by XFM (UK).
Between 2005 and the end of 2008, the duo hosted their very popular NRJ Mastermix weekly radio show on NRJ, one of France's most popular radio stations.
2006, they collaborate with THE DANDY WARHOLS and MOUSSE-T to release their first official world-wide smash known as 'Horny As A Dandy'. The track was nominated for the "Best Underground Dance Track" category at the 2007 MIMAMI WINTER MUSIC CONFERENCE.
2008, MADONNA selects Loo & Placido's mash-up 'Toop Toop Grove', a combo between 'Into The Groove' and Toop Toop' by CASSIUS. to perform live as part of her 'Sticky and Sweaty' tour' show.
